Urban Legends - Kit Nat. Ed.

Communi-Quête 3

Irene Bernard, Beverley Biggar and Myra Froc

Series : Communi-Quête

In this concluding unit, students will research, read and discuss urban legends from a variety of cultures and countries. Students will participate in a variety of popular reading activities such as shared reading, guided reading, and literature circles. They will then play a group game to prepare them to write their own urban legend by discussing with group members the different elements of the genre.

Final task: students will assume different publishing roles to compile the urban legends written by the class into a magazine or e-zine. The final task is a celebration of what they have accomplished as they discuss and respond to the urban legend magazine in a literature circle.
