Catherine Corrigall-Brown is assistant professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of British Columbia. Her research examines individual participation in social movements, First Nations protest in Canada, identity, and the environmental movement. She has published in a variety of academic journals, such as Social Forces, Canadian Journal of Sociology, Mobilization, Sociological Perspectives, Journal of Civil Society, and International Journal of Comparative Sociology. Her recent book, Patterns of Protest (Stanford University Press, 2012), examines why and how individuals participate in social movements over the life-course. She received her PhD from the University of California, Irvine.
